The one thing you are bound to see in any Jeremiah Brent–designed space is checkerboard tile. You’ll find it in the entryway of his New York City home; on the patio of his L.A. restaurant, Juliet; and even inside a fireplace he made over. Now Brent is embracing the look on a totally new surface: walls.

For his first-ever wallpaper collection, the designer teamed up with Tempaper to make peel-and-stick treatments, most of which feature faux finishes. Naturally, Brent snuck in a design that only looks like antique black-and-white checkerboard tile. There’s also a geometric style that mimics sisal, an organic motif that’ll have you convinced it is stone, and another self-adhesive option that looks like old parchment paper. Basically, the 13-piece assortment captures his go-to materials, but at an affordable price point—most of them start at $50 per roll.

If you’ve been waiting to get in on the DIY game, now is the time. Even Brent has been using loads of temporary wallpaper while filming the newest season of Queer Eye. “My biggest piece of advice? Take your time and store any extra you might have,” he shares. “You can always go back and cover up outlets with the remnants.” Here’s what the designer had to say about a few of the standouts from the collab.

“The collection is heavily inspired by memories and places I’ve traveled to that have had a direct impact on me emotionally and creatively. Whether it’s the vintage tile I saw in the back of a Viennese kitchen or memories of the Portuguese countryside.”

“Every piece in the collection was designed with versatility in mind. You can put it on furniture like bookcases and dressers—even moldings if you want to. The idea is to get creative, have fun, and really embrace the opportunity to try.”

“I also absolutely adore The Collector’s Study, a faux parchment that’s my nod to the Art Deco movement, which I’ve always been inspired by. It’s a motif that isn’t often referenced but is really, really sophisticated.”
