Jeremiah Brent fashions himself a tactile person, a characteristic you can see so clearly in the offices he designs, including his own. Materiality and texture are paramount, like in his leather-swathed desk or the mix of organically-shaped furnishings and marble; even his moodboards have a three-dimensional quality to them. The same can be said for his latest collection with Paper Source, a tight 18-product line that includes items like soft leather corner bookmarks and picture frames, a marble paperweight, and a suede, gridded journal. “This collection is a tribute to the raw beauty of nature’s elements—metals, glass, stone, wood, and leather,” Brent shares. It pairs really well with the designer’s handsome custom stationery, too.
Erin Burke, senior design director for Paper Source, reveals that the idea behind the collaboration was to play with each item’s fabrication. In other words, they finished the journal covers with cloth instead of paper and made the sticky notes transparent. “These evolutions of surface and texture made all the difference in how elevated each item felt and how their end-use became more versatile,” she says.
The collection starts at just $8 for a sweet suede bookmark (perfect to pair with a read for gifting) and is only $45 at the high end; it’ll eventually include a glass curio box and a clip-on book light in pretty burgundy red. See our five faves from the latest additions below.
