As much as we love returning to IKEA’s classics—the Malm bed and Billy shelves are forever staples—there’s nothing like the thrill of stumbling upon something special in the New & Trending section. The latest gem? A $35 folding table that’s about to become our beach day BFF.

Strandön Folding Table, IKEA ($35)

We were first struck by its electric blue hue; if there’s a time and a place for bold colors, it’s summer on the beach. Looks aside, this piece is all about function. You can fold it up and throw it in your tote, and once you’ve arrived, it opens out to 29 inches—that’s enough space for a bountiful cheese board. The sturdy elevated surface is made out of a mesh that water and sand will pass right through. But our favorite part has to be the nifty lower compartments, perfect for holding flatware or even a deck of cards.

There’s more where the Strandön table came from—a whole collection, actually. Following the same refreshing color palette, a larger folding table set, a portable grill, and a pop-up tent just arrived, each seriously elevating your sandy excursions. The one caveat: Everything is limited edition. We’re not saying jump in your car and rush over to your nearest IKEA, but we’re not not saying that.
