IKEA's New Fryksas and Salno Collections Are Full of Chic Rattan Pieces

It’s the first day of July, which means it’s officially time to replenish your sunscreen stash, refamiliarize yourself with the grill, and go to your local IKEA. Today, the Swedish retailer announced 73 fresh products on its shelves spanning graphic bedding, an adorable portable lamp, and a high-pile checkered rug—but there are two specific launches we can’t stop thinking about: the Fryksas and Salnö collections. Between the two assortments, there are a total of 10 items and, in true summer fashion, they’re all made out of rattan.

The Breezy Utility Cart

IKEA might be best known for its bookcases and dressers, but the company’s carts are just as popular (we’ve seen the three-tier Raskog utility cart in countless tiny bathrooms). This large rolling unit is a welcome addition to the assortment, as it has a large flat top that can double as a side table.

The Breakfast Bench

Salnö/Gryttom Bench With Pad, IKEA ($189)

At 44 ½ inches wide, this petite seat can serve as one side of a dining nook in a small kitchen.

The Space-Dividing Desk

For those heads-down type of workdays, this desk’s cocooning shape will encourage focus. Plus we love that you can float it in the middle of a large space and the rattan barrier will act as a room divider.

The TV Cabinet

After you tuck away books and board games inside the rattan cabinet doors, snake your unsightly cords within the outlet holes at the back of the unit. People will be too distracted by the piece’s textured facade to notice.
