This is “In Our Carts,” a monthly series in which I’ll round up my and other editors’ favorite product launches. They’re taken straight from our #editors-picks Slack channel, where our team drops the many press releases that fill our inboxes. I sort through them for the best of the best. That way, you can read just about the good stuff—nothing more and nothing less.
Morrow Soft Goods Dropped a Fall Collection
The latest from Morrow Soft Goods takes cues from the colors and patterns often found in coastal Mediterranean homes. Earth tones splash across organic matte sateen sheets and duvet covers, while punches of warm red run up striped coverlets (there’s a new iteration of the vintage stripe coverlet available). The idea is to mix and match them with each other, as well as the rest of the brand’s textiles.
Cabana and Crini & Sophia Collaborated on a Tabletop Collection
Poppies dance all across the new Harvest Bloom collection from Cabana magazine and Athens-based Crini & Sophia. The line of tablecloths, embroidered placemats and napkins, and hand-painted plates is inspired by Demeter, the ancient Greek goddess of harvest and agriculture. Threads used to make each textile are sourced from the Benaki Museum’s NEMA Passementerie, the only place traditionally producing ribbons, braids, tassels, fringes, and more that is operational in Greece today.
Nickey Kehoe Painted Its Furniture in Farrow & Ball
Like a match made in heaven. Two of our favorite home brands, Nickey Kehoe and Farrow & Ball, have teamed up to bring an extra dose of personality to the design studio and boutique’s custom-made furniture collection. You can add nearly 300 Farrow & Ball paint colors to chairs, tables, dressers, and more—and the designers have even chosen their favorite hues of the moment for you: Arsenic, Studio Green, Brinjal, Cat’s Paw, Charlotte’s Locks, India Yellow, and Bancha.
Flamingo Estate Got Into Skin Care
Why yes, we’d let Flamingo Estate take over our bathroom, and its move into skin care makes that closer to reality. The California brand, which makes extremely good hair care and soaps, just debuted Manuka Rich Cream, an allover moisturizer made with hand-harvested hemp flower oil, lanolin, olive oil, and its namesake Manuka honey extract. It’s scented with mimosa blossom and carrot tops, and has vegetal, earthy, and honey notes.
Framebridge Went British Country With a New Collection
Most of the DTC framing services that have popped up over the past several years only offer modern frames (think: lots of white and black wood with sharp angles). That’s why we love the newest collection from Framebridge, fittingly called British Country. The 10-piece assortment uses rich woods, unique textures and patterns, and hand-leafed gold accents to give it that extra bit of charm. We’re crushing on the Eton, Ashford, York, and Waverley.
Cappelen Dimyr Released New Jute and Wool Rugs
You could lay down either of these two gorgeous new designs from Cappelen Dimyr, or you could hang one on the wall as art. Both of the jute and wool rugs draw inspiration from traditional Scandinavian techniques, one featuring a graphic floral motif and the other a classic checked pattern.
Parachute and Birkenstock Teamed Up on Slippers
Just imagine these slippers at the foot of your bed in the dead of winter. Bedding stalwart Parachute brought its cozy know-how to the Birkenstock heritage in the Zermatt, which features a plush shearling lining, cork footbeds, and a soft suede exterior. Padding around the house or venturing out to get the mail was never softer. They’d also make a great gift—just sayin’.
Hem and Studio Kukkapuro Reintroduced an Iconic Chair
Scandi design-heads, this one’s for you. Swedish brand Hem is bringing legendary Finnish designer Yrjö Kukkapuro’s Experiment chair back into production. The chair, first produced in 1982, has gotten some ergonomic and material adaptations for this iteration; the idea was to preserve its distinct look while making it more comfortable, durable, and environmentally responsible. Sign up for early access to this postmodern icon, which can be configured 16 different ways. It drops October 16, and we don’t expect stock to last long.
Caraway Got Into Cast Iron
It’s encouraging to see new cookware brands stray from nonstick and, in Caraway’s case, toward cast iron. The latest launch is a fresh modern alternative to more folksy forms from the likes of Lodge and Le Creuset, and there are six colors to choose from. We like the three-layer enamel coating and the fact that you don’t need to season any of them; plus, there’s a lifetime warranty, they’re made with 50% recycled materials, and they’re free from harmful chemicals like PTFE and PFOA.
Frama Debuted a Modular Kitchen System With Kvänum
Frama, known for furniture, lighting, and apothecary, tapped 100-year-old Swedish kitchen and cabinetry makers Kvänum to craft modular kitchens. Available in two wood frames, titled Chestnut and Ginger, the cabinetry is complemented by stainless steel and stone, materials that are intrinsic to Frama’s style.
