I’m taking the reins from style editor Julia Stevens for “In Our Carts,” which is a monthly series in which I’ll round up my and other editors’ favorite product launches. They’re taken straight from our #editors-picks Slack channel, where our team drops the many press releases that fill our inboxes. I sort through them for the best of the best. That way, you can read just about the good stuff—nothing more and nothing less.
Tekla and Artek Debuted New Bedding
Danish home brand Tekla always seems to choose just the right collaborators, from Jacquemus to Birkenstock. Its latest mashup, with Artek, is one that seems to be made just for us. Duvets and shams in three colors are splashed in Finnish architect and designer Aino Aalto’s Kirsikankukka pattern, which was originally inspired by a scarf she was gifted by the Japanese ambassador to Finland. Plus, with this collection, the brand is introducing kids’ bedding for the first time. How cute would it look in a crib?
Cold Picnic Introduced Richly Hued Solid Rugs
We know Cold Picnic can nail a cool print, but the brand had yet to make single-color styles—until now. The nature-inspired names—Grass Green, Roasted Tomato, Sky Blue, and Pear (that chartreuse hue, wow)—are luscious underfoot thanks to 100% New Zealand wool.
Dusen Dusen Designed Fresh Throw Pillows
Bright, graphic, and groovy: Just what we’d expect from delightfully zany Dusen Dusen. The brand just brought us three new pillow designs—Daisy, Hourglass, and Ricrac—in punchy sunflower yellow, denim blue, and Kelly green.
VUUE Launched Alabaster Sconces at CB2
CB2 chose a pitch-perfect location to style these gorgeous new sconces, designed by Australian studio VUUE. The hand-carved alabaster globes seem to be made for a Newport-esque look, sporting a bit of old-world glamour without any pretense. They come in two sizes, 6 and 10 inches.
Lulu and Georgia Tapped Carly Cushnie for a Collection
Fashion maven and creative director Carly Cushnie just introduced her first furniture collection with designer-loved Lulu and Georgia. It’s a material party: cane, wood, bouclé, fringe, and velvet are all here. There’s so much mix-and-match potential within the 11-piece group, but we’re particularly fond of the warm-toned Yucca sofa and the burl-wood Sabal console table.
Opinel Designed a Genius Grilling Set
The brilliance in Opinel’s new grilling set lies in its simplicity. The stainless steel tongs are extra-long for grabbing steaks and corn, and we like that they have notched tips and a curved edge for grippy grabbing. But the big reveal is that the folding knife becomes the spatula handle; just lock the No.12B knife into place using the Virobloc locking ring. You won’t even need to go inside for a bottle opener—there’s one at the end of the knife handle.
R+D Lab Joined Forces With a Mexican Chef on Glassware
Editor-favorite R+D Lab tapped Mexican chef Elena Reygadas and Fenn Apartamento to dream up the Rosetta collection, three new glass shapes inspired by vessels found at Pompeii. While their titles, Acqua, Sour, and Martini, state certain uses, we see white wine in the water cups (our favorite shape), kombucha in the sours, and after-dinner cordials in the stems.
Zara Added to Its Vincent Van Duysen Lineup
Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen continues to introduce new pieces to his Zara Home collection. In this iteration, wood, concrete, and solid brass take center stage. The new daybed has a partner in the library system, concrete side tables take organic shapes, and dark brown is a dominant color throughout.
Baggu Collaborated With Collina Strada on Limited-Edition Prints
Horse girls, this one’s for you. Fashion darling Collina Strada brings its trippy pattern archive to Baggu’s classic reusable bags, picnic blankets, and even towels. A new silhouette is stealing the show, though: the Horse Bag, which is exactly like what it sounds (a zippered mini pony that’ll also carry your wallet). We’re fans of the Boxer Plaid print on the Small Cloud carry-on, which puts the “fun” in functional.
