You’ve made one thing clear to us lately—you’re sprinting toward cozy season. How do we know? You really wanted to take a peek inside a certain Cotswolds cottage we revealed last week, especially after Joanna Goddard happened to put our home tour on blast on Cup of Jo. Every room in the tiny space is dripping with charm, so we get it. But the downside of stepping into a space like this is the want/need/absolute obsession to re-create it within our own four walls. And that’s not the easiest thing to do when most of the items in it are one-of-a-kind antiques.
So we did a little digging. If you’re looking to mimic a bit of cottage magic, we pulled some picks inspired by the Cotswolds residence we all can’t stop thinking about.
A Simple Iron Lamp
This tripod-style design can be found tucked into a corner of the cottage’s living room, less for function and more for a warm glow. But it would also serve as a great reading nook light, just saying.
Marigold Bed Linens
The home is full of rustic materials like brick and wood, so the pop of sunny yellow throughout the bedrooms provides a beautiful balance. We love this Schoolhouse quilt because of its lived-in texture—and the fact that it was inspired by vintage quilted jackets.
A Woven Trash Bin
Even the wastebaskets in this cottage are adorable. This one from Wayfair looks a whole lot like the petite lidded vessel in the wood-paneled powder room.
Vintage Art With Maritime Flair
The nautical nods are aplenty in our muse home: There are sconces that look straight from a ship, a sailboat model, and quite a few whale-themed prints (small and large). Bonus points for shopping vintage, but you can score similar mass illustrations from other retailers, too.
A Ceramic Jug, Just for Flowers
In the Cotswolds home’s attic bedroom, a massive vase is packed full of stems. We love the asymmetrical shape of this particular jug, which is begging for some bright blooms.
Plenty of Picture Lights
Lighting art can be a task worthy of hiring a professional—but it doesn’t need to be. After you’ve got your pieces planned out, look to Pooky for cordless options you can mount in seconds. We love how the bronze finish looks like it could be vintage.
Striped Blinds
Tight stripes (hairline, candy, pin) are something we see time and again in layered British homes. In this kitchen alone, we spot it on the fabric of the sink skirt and the roman shades.
