Sheer linen duvet covers, silky-soft body pillow covers, striped organic terry towels, and a fresh take on the tablecloth are just a few of our favorite things from the new home collection from sustainable Danish fashion brand Baserange. The Copenhagen-based label was founded 12 years ago by Marie-Louise Mogensen and Blandine Legait with a focus on minimalist clothing made with natural fibers and recycled materials. Why the expansion into home? It emerged from a little experimentation.

“We were looking for other ways to utilize the materials and resources we already had,” Mogensen shared by email, acknowledging Stine Kinch Jonassen’s and Meghan Lynn Ellis’s contributions to the product line. “This process resulted in a small assortment of hand-sewn pillows made from our silk organza bags and stuffed with bamboo offcuts from production.” Both the team and customers happened to love the look, which led to the conception of the new collection across bed, bath, and tabletop; it ranges in price from $40 to $450. In earth tones that span brick red, light yellow, mossy green, and muted walnut, there are yoga accessories, bedding, throw pillow covers, and table linens crafted from a mix of hemp, silk, linen, organic cotton, and EcoVero viscose.

“We have the same approach and process for the home collection as we do with the clothes when it comes to fabrics, dyeing, and production,” she says. “Many of the fabrics are ones we’ve worked with for the clothes.” Their personal favorites from the collection include the Shell long roll pillow (“For the way it hugs and holds the body”), the textured crinkle linen Shoal tea towel, and the Shoal tablecloth.

We were immediately smitten with the linen tablecloth, too. Its missing chunk in the middle offers an opportunity to get creative with your table setting. “The tablecloth’s shape references a shoal, which speaks to the idea of formations and being one among others,” Mogensen explains. “It can be layered with other fabrics on a table or bed.” Whether used at Thanksgiving dinner or permanently in a guest room, there’s no doubt it’ll get visitors talking.
