From Tim Burton-style goth to the classic Breton stripes of the French Riviera, stripes crop up in all aesthetic environments—but of course, they always have a place in the realm of home decor.
“Stripes are a strong staple in home accents. However, what’s more interesting is the variation of their dimension currently at market, as they have widened over the past few seasons to offer up bold variations of color blocking,” says Jaye Anna Mize, Home Interiors Director for trend forecasting agency Fashion Snoops
As for the colors she anticipates seeing, Mize says it’s taking a more tone-on-tone approach. "You see one light, one dark variation of the same color hue quite often at the moment—many times in neutrals. However, we are seeing a shift into what we are calling ‘50 shades of green’—everything from deep forest hues to olive, mint, and kelly,” she explains. "They are being mixed and merged into fun combos, as the blues take a back seat.”Corral Your Vices
