How To Transform Your Patio Into An Exotic Escape

And the worldly resorts that inspired the look.

Summer is right around the corner. Is your outdoor space ready? Whether you're the entertainer, lounger, or bohemian free-body, it's important to craft an area that will help you make the most of the warmer months ahead. We sought out the looks from a handful of hotels, resorts, and Airbnbs, from across the globe, to inspire a decorative refresh for your home. Take a look!

Channel the tried and true aesthetic of @plantsonpink in your very own outdoor space. Feeling up to the challenge? Paint an exterior wall (a fence will work just as well) in this vibrant hue and pair with an abundant arrangement of lengthy greens to create a show-stopping accent wall. Mexico's Hotel Rosas & Xocolate has the right idea.

Summer entertaining obviously calls for an outdoor bar - much like the one pictured here, from St. Bart's Villa Palmier. This IKEA kitchen island will do the trick. Keep the piece simple and whitewashed, emulating the minimalist elegance of this Caribbean scene.

We're over the snoozy outdoor setup. It's time to upgrade your patio decor game with a punch of color. We're strongly in favor of a daring combo featuring pink and yellow

Take advantage of a semi-covered deck by opting for a more elegant outdoor dining situation. Juxtapose a beautifully-stained wooden dining table combo with delicately woven fixtures and accents. This is the place to enjoy a morning coffee or breakfast.

Bring in the exotic elegance of a Moroccan escape into your very own outdoor space. The decor of Marrakesh's Le Riad Yasmine is too good to be true. Designate an area to install colorful tiles (we love this pattern!) and couple the look with a spacious lounge or daybed. Complete the look with garden stools and vibrant greens.

We're taking major style cues from Harbour Island's The Dunmore. Create a cozy breakfast nook on your patio, opting for a fun arrangement with playful colors and patterns. Enjoy breakfast outdoors while you can, starting the workday out with a well-deserved changeup!

There's something about a whitewashed outdoor scene that effortlessly emulates an instant element of relaxation. We're looking to Mykonos's San Giorgio hotel for a little decorative direction. Mix and match natural wood furnishings with stark white accents, and filter in vibrantly patterned throw pillows and floor poufs for a dynamic finish.

It doesn't seem like Millennial Pink is going anywhere anytime soon, so why not embrace it? We're seriously coveting Azucar Hotel's dreamy poolside setup. In the meantime, we'll settle on recreating this little corner of paradise in our outdoor space. The key? Bringing in those bright pink lounges (daybeds and poufs will do as well!) and pairing the look with chic rattan accents or furnishings.

Consider Tulum's Nomade Hotel your outdoor dining inspiration for the summer. Skip the standard dining table and chair combo for your next fete in lieu of a more grounded approach. Layer a handful of area rugs on the patio or backyard and couple the look with a low-standing coffee table and floor poufs.

Psst! Take things a step further and add a few tassels or pom poms to the lighting.

Patterned floor tiles and vibrantly colored outdoor furnishings will elevate even the most lackluster of spaces. Emulate this scene from Panama's American Trade Hotel by bringing in accent pieces of the saturated variety and filter in a touch of stripes to complete the look.

Hammocks are synonymous with summer living. So why not indulge in one for your deck or patio? This boho chic one will go with just about any decorative scheme! Complete the scene with a colorfully patterned area rug and you've got your very own backyard escape.
