Miley Cyrus's increasingly country-inspired music isn't the only way she's returning to her southern roots. The Malibu singer just picked up a five-bedroom home in her hometown of Franklin, Tennessee.
Cyrus, who was born in Franklin, bought the sprawling estate for $5.8 million. Located about 21 miles south of Nashville, the southern city is a stark contrast to Los Angeles, which Cyrus currently calls home. Her new property reflects that southern charm—see: the stunning wrap-around porch and barn-style living room—but at over 33 acres is anything but quaint.
The house is 6,869 square feet and was custom built to merge new and old building materials, according to the listing. Designed to emulate a farmhouse, the home includes plenty of rustic, natural features—such as exposed wood ceiling beams and stone fireplaces—presented in a clean, modern way.
Nowhere is this more evident than in the kitchen, a gorgeous farmhouse-style space complete with an exposed brick wall, pendant lights that look like old lanterns, and whitewashed wood ceiling planks. In contrast to those older motifs, the kitchen also features state-of-the art appliances and a contemporary open floor plan with a marble-topped island with bar seating in the center.
The living room spans over 30 feet and comes with built-in bookshelves and a fireplace with stone work that stretches to the ceiling. Elsewhere, the master bedroom also has a fireplace, and opens into an en suite bathroom complete with a stand-alone tub, separate shower, and prime views of the outdoor space.
Speaking of the outdoor space, the porch opens directly onto a swimming pool and spa. These are built into a massive patio with room for loungers and a table for dining al fresco. The outside area also has a screened-in deck, separate log cabin home, and small putting green.
But one of the best features of the property—for an A-list celebrity, at least—is undoubtedly the privacy. Situated down a private dirt lane at the very end of a rural cul-de-sac, the tree-lined estate offers all the seclusion required by one of the biggest stars in the world.
