Meg Ryan’s moving on to greener pastures—namely, celebrity-studded residence 443 Greenwich Street in Tribeca, New York, which means she had to give up her full-floor Soho loft at 43 Mercer Street. She just sold the stunning space for a cool $9.85 million.

According to Variety, Ryan bought the 4,100-square-foot home from “Simpsons” actor Hank Azaria in May 2013 for $8 million. The huge profit comes from the actress’ efforts in spearheading the renovation of the airy, sun-drenched home, which is reportedly the ninth one she’s upgraded to date.

“With decorating I am in control, it’s a chance for me to bring my vision into the world,” she told Architectural Digest in 2016. In fact, her son even came up with a name for her design hobbies: “Meg-anize.”

Ryan’s sophisticated style is evident by the modern marble floors, crisp whitewashed walls, boho chic carpeting, and unique light fixtures. The easy-breezy oasis is in sharp contrast to the hustle and bustle of the area in which it resides—and of course, that was the point.

Ryan also added some celeb-inspired perks to the property, including a key-lock elevator that opens directly onto the ebony hardwood foyer. The exposed French-style doors open to reveal an expansive, yet cozy dining area, complete with custom-made bronze table by Maison Gerard.

The sprawling three-bedroom, three-bathroom property exemplifies a different theme for each room, which gives the home an eclectic vibe. The loft also boasts the ultimate luxury in New York City—space—with a large eat-in kitchen, media room, butler’s pantry, and laundry room.

The master bedroom features sunny, whitewashed walls, and custom-made ivory and mirror cabinets. The jet black floors are offset by the 13 floor-to-ceiling windows across the property, and the original architectural columns give a royal air to the rooms. The custom Holland & Sherry rugs throughout the loft are also a great stylistic addition, giving the apartment a soft, cheery vibe.

These subtle touches are no accident, however: Ryan hired renowned architect Joel Barkley and celebrity designer Monique Gibson to revamp her home, and their original ideas are seen throughout the property, especially in the luxe bathrooms.

Their black and white themes might look stark elsewhere, but Ryan makes it work with custom marble countertops, flowered tile floors, Waterworks tub and sink fittings, and soft light usually reserved for more expansive areas.

Ryan says of the home, “It was like so much of New York: cinematic. That’s what attracted me. And that’s what I wanted to work with.”

We have to say, she definitely succeeded.
