Jenna Lyons’s New York City home is no stranger to the public eye. Thanks to Instagram, we’ve ogled her pink velvet sofa, appreciated her love for unlacquered brass, and told everyone about her trick for laying patterned tile. Now the former creative director of J.Crew and newest member of the Real Housewives of New York cast has given us something new to admire: her Christmas decor.
In an Instagram post, she showed off her SoHo living room, which she recently decked out in the seasonal accessories she scored at John Derian, the shop owned by the eponymous designer-artist who has a penchant for printed textiles and decoupage. Lyons’s garland-laden fireplace frames a cluster of candles (she’s Team Real Flame, in case you’re wondering), but the real twinkle comes from a set of glittery mushroom figurines flanking each side of the hearth. Nearby, a herd of tiny deer sparkles on the console (Rudolph appears to be taking the lead position on the marble mantel). We spotted even more Derian objects amid multicolored lights on the tree. From what we can see, Lyons is also a fan of cheeky glass ornaments that come in the form of alien heads, handblown hamburgers, and colorful clip-on parrots.
Her post indicates she did a “drive-by” at one of the brand’s brick-and-mortar locations in the city, but we well know that’s no speedy task. As Samira Nasr, editor in chief of Harper’s Bazaar, noted in the comments, there’s often an hour-long wait at the door. Luckily, you don’t have to brave the lines if you are looking to gift someone else (or yourself) a whimsical ornament or festive statue. You can shop several of Lyons’s favorites here.
