Apparently, releasing one book a year is not enough for designer, TV star, and general person-we-want-to-be-when-we-grow-up Joanna Gaines. Following the celebrated launch of her cookbook, Magnolia Table, on April 24, Gaines will also be publishing a design book. Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave will officially be available on November 6 of this year, and we already can’t wait.
“Home is so personal, and for me, I want it to be a place where my family feels loved, safe, and at ease,” said Gaines in a recent interview with PEOPLE. “Creating a space that tells your story is really what it’s all about. I’m so excited to finally release Homebody’s official cover!”
The cover in question is simple, featuring the ever-stylish Joanna in her natural habitat—perched on a modern farmhouse-style entryway bench, surrounded by shiplap.
As for the contents of this highly anticipated book? Gaines assures us it’ll be more than just a decorative coffee table guide. Rather, she told PEOPLE that it will be “a practical guide to creating a home that reflects the personalities and stories of the people who live there—making it a place that you never want to leave.” Think in-depth features of inspirational spaces, “get the look” how-tos, and tons of advice on achieving Gaines-style decor perfection that even the most novice of decorators will find useful.
The Fixer Upper star originally announced the upcoming design book on her Instagram back in August 2017, and also shared a sneak peek of an image from it.

Day 1 of shooting images for my design book! I got so giddy when we captured the first few photos. We have been preparing for this book for so long and I'm excited to finally see it take shape. It will be a deep dive into all things home and design with lots of pretty details. I can't wait to share it with you! ❤️
“I got so giddy when we captured the first few photos,” wrote Gaines in the caption. “We have been preparing for this book for so long, and I’m excited to finally see it take shape.”
This book is the fourth one between the power couple that is Chip and Jo, with them having previously co-authored The Magnolia Story. Released in 2016, that design book chronicles the Gaines’s most famous renovation projects. Chip’s memoir, Capital Gaines, was released in October 2017, and Joanna’s cookbook marks the couple’s most recent launch.
By contrast, Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave may just be the most personal of the bunch: It will offer an inside look into the family’s own Waco farmhouse, where the duo currently lives with their four (soon to be five) kids.
“It will be a deep dive into all things home and design, with lots of pretty details. I can’t wait to share it with you!” promises Gaines in her original Instagram. Mark your calendars for fall.
