Jane Fonda's been trying to get rid of her mansion for several years now: The gorgeous, three-floor estate that the actress shared with ex-partner Richard Perry was first listed in January 2017 at $12.99 million, but due to a lack of takers, was cut down to $11.5 million in March 2017. And it turns out that still wasn't enough of a price cut, with Page Six reporting that the price slashed down to $9.99 million in August 2017.
However, the actress' real estate woes have finally come to an end. According to Trulia, after multiple price reductions, the eco-friendly LA home finally sold for $8.53 million. And while that might seem like a huge loss, don't worry: The Academy Award-winning actress still made a profit, since she first purchased the luxe mansion for $7.3 million back in 2012.
Built in 1961, the eco-conscious estate features solar powered electric panels, bamboo floors, thermal glass windows, and bio-ethanol fueled fireplaces. It contains three bedrooms and four bathrooms, and boasts over 7,000 square feet, glass staircases, and an airy, sun-drenched living space.
“It’s a very special home because of the star-studded Trousdale Estates location,” says listing agent Valerie Fitzgerald. “The privacy, the gorgeous views, and the flow of the house creates the perfect environment to entertain or live—not to mention, it’s paparazzi-proof!”
The upper level offers an open kitchen—complete with a double-sized center island and custom walnut cabinetry—dining room, and living area with a stacked-stone fireplace.
Of the home’s four bedrooms, the lavish master suite includes a bi-level sitting area, his and hers bathrooms (with radiant heated floors and a tiled soaking tub), and an enormous walk-in closet.
The media lounge boasts a full bar, cork floors, and a recording studio—presumably for producer Perry. Several framed records dominate the walls.
There’s also a glass elevator, office, library, den (with a glass-backed fireplace), and fitness center inside the estate. I mean, when you're the creator of the Jane Fonda Workout, you need only the best to keep in shape, right?
Of course, no eco-friendly home would be complete without an impressive backyard—and Fonda’s doesn’t disappoint. Hers has a solar-powered swimming pool, fire pits, covered patios, viewing terraces (for watching the mountainside sunsets, of course), fountains, and a meditation garden.
