Just this spring, Ikea launched a new smart lighting collection, and now the retailer has announced a new addition to the smart home range that is sure to convince you to completely overhaul your home lighting system.
Beginning this summer or fall, the affordable Trådfri smart lights will be compatible with Google Home, Apple HomeKit, and Amazon Alexa devices. This means that all your smart home devices can be synced up for a streamlined experience that will allow you to easily control everything just by using your voice.
Since first breaking into the smart home industry in 2015 with furniture and accessories that came with built-in wireless chargers, Ikea has continuously expressed interest in expanding its presence in the connected home to democratize smart home technology by making it more affordable.
“We believe that smart home technology should be accessible to everyone. For this reason, we will continue to work with our products to be compatible with other products available on the market,” says Ikea in a press release.
The inexpensive Trådfri collection includes LED bulbs, illuminated panels, a motion sensor kit, a gateway kit, and dimming lights. While you’ll have to wait until later this year to make the products work with your smart home ecosystem, you can shop the collection online now. Because light switches are so 2016.
