It’s 2017, and sustainability is undoubtedly in. With the widespread discussion on the environment happening globally today, it’s no surprise that brands are turning more and more to eco-friendly designs. IKEA is the latest company to hop on the recyclable bandwagon with their newest products making their debut this month.
A new line of sustainable kitchen cabinet fronts proves that you don’t have to skimp on quality and style to be green. These KUNGSBACKA cabinet fronts are made from recycled wood that is wrapped in a plastic film produced by recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles. The sleek, minimalistic IKEA aesthetic we all know and love got an eco-friendly makeover.
Other products we’re eagerly anticipating include the modular EKET storage system, which takes cube storage to another level (literally… you can even put them on your wall), new KALLAX shelf inserts, the SODERUP rug made from natural materials, and a textile collection designed specifically for children. The children-inspired VÄNSKAPLIG collection is meant to “promote peace and love” through heart-shaped rugs and mandala-printed linens.
