Intrigued by home automation but don’t want to commit to a full-on smart house just yet? IKEA recently announced a line of lighting that’s the perfect way to dip your toe into the world of smart home decor.

The best part is that, true to the IKEA brand, the smart lighting system is actually affordable. Dubbed Trådfri —which means “wireless” in Swedish— it uses the same ZigBee Light Link technology used by other prevalent smart lighting brands like Philips Hue. The system is based around a gateway device that connects to the internet via an Ethernet connection, thereby creating a network for your local bulbs. The base set, which includes the gateway, a remote and two Trådfri bulbs, will only set you back around $85.

In addition to the gateway kit, the new smart lighting collection includes a remote dimmer switch puck, a motion sensor kit, dimming lights, and Trådfri LED bulbs. You’ll also be able to choose from a selection of LED Floalt panels and illuminated doors that can be built into cabinets and are connected to the Trådfri system.

"The IKEA vision is to bring affordable home furnishing solutions to the many people. We know from research that existing smart lighting technology is perceived to be too expensive and difficult to understand, so we have worked to remove those barriers to make smart lighting more accessible," said IKEA Home Furnishing expert Helen Longford in a statement.

The new smart lighting system currently only shows up on IKEA’s Swedish website, but if you don’t feel like Google-translating an entire web page don’t worry: the products are expected in U.S. stores by March 31st.
