An obstacle course.
There’s a reason American Ninja Warrior has captivated viewers
and taken the world by storm. The obstacle courses that participants are required to maneuver require both physical strength and logical reasoning.
Even if you’re not jumping over the spinning logs on television, you can still create an at-home version scaled to your specific needs.
From toddlers to grown adults, everyone can participate! The good news is you don’t have to break the bank (or your back) setting one up. Here are a few simple obstacle course ideas that almost everyone can appreciate and enjoy!
-Set up a row of chairs and have guests crawl under or over them.
-Stretch a string between two objects for a makeshift limbo game.
-Lay a Hula hoop on the ground and let guests take turns jumping in and out of it.
-Set a board a few inches off the ground for a quick balance beam.
-Create a relay race and have guests run while balancing a soft object, such as a beanbag, on their head.
Taking your guests’ physical conditions in mind, you can adjust the obstacle course as required. For instance, there may be some exercises that little legs just can’t do, or that require too much exertion from the older party guests.
Take the theme a step farther and create custom T-shirts for your guests similar to the creative costumes many participants wear on the T.V. show! You can also have fun with the snacks here. Drinks can be “fuel” for your guests and cookies can be shaped like round medals!
