The Everygirl’s Furniture Collection Redefines Traditional Decor

These timeless pieces are anything but boring.

As much as we love slightly out there decor trends, there’s something to be said about classic pieces that stand the test of time and are practical enough for everyday use. So, when we learned customizable furniture brand The Inside was teaming up with lifestyle website The Everygirl, we couldn’t be more excited. Much like the site’s principle of providing inspiration in a relatable, down to earth way, the collection is both beautifully crafted and easy to style. With classic silhouettes and neutral colors, these are pieces you can effortlessly incorporate into your existing decor.

According to Christiane Lemieux, founder of The Inside, this was the intent from the get go. “The inspiration for this collection was The Everygirl’s firm and practical belief in investing in neutral pieces for the big ticket pieces for the home, and then accessorizing with color and character,” says Lemieux. “We wanted to create a selection of fabrics and patterns that could easily mix and match using classic, timeless silhouettes—all of which can stand as the design base for any style.”

For Everygirl co-founders Alaina Kaczmarski and Danielle Moss, the collaboration was a chance to re-define the “traditional” aesthetic. “When people think traditional, they often think stuffy, formal, heavy… we like an airier, more relaxed, lived-in version of classic silhouettes—and in lighter, less structured fabrics,” she explains. “We appreciate creative, colorful pieces as much as the next person, but furniture and home decor is a big investment for most. It’s not like clothing, where you can change it up every season. It’s much easier to design a home if you create a base with neutral pieces as the foundation.”

The limited edition collection—which is available to shop online January 22 on The Inside—consists of six staple pieces. A chaise lounge, which retails for $949, will lend an elegant feel to any living room. The modern bench is Lemieux’s favorite: “I love how it looks, and how they’ve styled it as a multi-purpose coffee table. It’s a classic and versatile piece,” she says of the bench, which costs $499.

Two headboards, a square back option ($299) and a wing back option ($749), offer a hint of luxury with which to upgrade one's bedroom. The $579 skirted chair is a classic silhouette, perfect for adding extra sitting room seating options.

Two ottomans round out the collection, with the skirted storage ottoman weighing in at $299, and the tufted ottoman costing a bit more, at $399. This chic piece is perfect for small space dwellers in need of multifunctional furniture that can double as a sneaky organizational solution.

All items are available in several timeless prints and colors, with the simple ecru hue and French-inspired stripe being personal favorites of The Everygirl team. “Our whole team loves the thin black stripe on white fabric, inspired by the famed, French-style breton shirts. It’s so fantastic on the headboard, but it’s great on the ottoman with gold legs, too!” says Kaczmarski. “It’s a popular pattern seen on clothing, but almost never in home decor.”

The style of the collection is true to both Kaczmarski’s and Moss' personal aesthetic—the former of which you can get a glimpse of in Kaczmarski’s holiday home tour she shared with us. The Chicago home is minimally decorated, adhering to a clean white color palette—the customized feel is instead brought in via the eclectic collection of furniture. For The Everygirl collaboration, Lemieux wanted to replicate that vibe, and helped Kaczmarski bring the signature Everygirl style to the line.

“We’ve admired how The Everygirl approaches decor, and knew we could build something great together—we love their distinct voice and style,” says Lemieux. “For Alaina, we encouraged her to create her own furniture aesthetic and collection for us.”

According to The Everygirl cofounders, this is only the beginning for The Everygirl in terms of product design. They hint at designing accessories in the future, as well as doing more with the company’s love of decor.

“As huge interior design junkies, we’ve always talked about wanting to get involved with the design aspect of home decor—from furniture to accessories—to create pieces in designs we love, at price points not currently available in the marketplace,” says Kaczmarski. “We are so excited [about] this opportunity to design pieces and fabrics with The Inside.”
