As we gear up for the colder months ahead—yes, the mere thought of it seems implausible, but autumn will be here before you know it—we're looking to the coziest of dwellings for a little inspiration in decorating our interiors. Woodland cottages and rustic cabins (much like this ultra cool and contemporary one) embody the quintessence of cold-weather living. From the warm textures to cool shades, there are a variety of ways to incorporate the inspired details of these spaces into our homes. We scoured the web in search of the most quaint cabins with the most charming decor, to hopefully inspire a change of our own. Take a look!

Proof that even the tiniest of spots can have a style-focused aesthetic. Found within this cozy Airbnb, a sectioned off room, doubles as extra sleeping space, clad in a refreshingly minimalist scheme. Muted neutrals set the tone by way of the wall paint and bedding, while a woven pendant imparts the space with a show-stopping focal point.

One of the better ways to emulate a serene woodland space? A whimsical wallpaper should definitely do the trick—bonus points if the room gets plenty of natural light. This Scandinavian scene proves that even a traditional design scheme can feel fresh and timely with the addition of sleek lighting and a colorfully-fueled backdrop.

General Store's founder Serena Mitnik-Miller's Topanga Canyon abode effortlessly captures the embodiment of cottage-living with a contemporary edge. The former hunting cabin now boasts an almost exclusively neutral decor scheme, elevated with textural accents and the ever-so-slightest pops of color. Bring in warm sheepskins to layer atop the bedding and complement the look with an equally snug throw.

We're swooning over the palette of this picturesque spot, situated in upstate New York. A soothing blue makes for the ideal backdrop for maple wood pairings, as found within the window panes, while the lush white bedding contributes an element of comfort.

If we learned anything from this spot it would be that less is definitely more. This New York-based Getaway cabin is conveniently tucked within the Catskills, allowing the stunning surround to make up for the lack of interior decor. With views like this, who needs a room filled with stuff?
