The pure minimalism of the Canvas Bedroom serves as a perfect backdrop for any modern environment. Family owned and operated in Bradford, Vermont since the 1970s, Copeland Furniture has sought to stay loyal to its mission to produce heirloom quality furniture with attention to design, craftsmanship, and value. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Northeast, preservation and stewardship of the environment are key initiatives that continue to drive sustainable business practices including the use of locally grown lumber, low emission finishes and hardware manufactured in the United States. Today, design aesthetics continue to be strongly influenced by the creativity of Arts & Crafts, Mission, Shaker, and Scandinavian movements, incorporating both classic proportion with modern simplicity. Natural variations in solid wood and hand-applied finishes make each piece unique. Slight grain and finish irregularities as well as subtle differences in stain shades are signs that the furniture has been crafted from solid wood and are considered hallmarks of quality. Finely crafted using time-tested joinery and construction methods, lumber is selected, sanded and assembled by hand to ensure that all the joinery is clean, flush, and smooth to the touch. Multiple coats of silky smooth varnish is applied and sanded by hand to provide lasting protection that is resistant to stains, moisture rings, heat damage and abrasions. The underside is laser engraved with the Copeland Furniture logo, ensuring authenticity and quality craftsmanship. Maple is a heavy wood, highly resistant to abrasion and indentation, characterized by a straight grain. To preserve the beauty of the finish, simply clean the surface of the furniture with a soft damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly. Care over the years to come will not require oil, polishes, or cleaners. Swirls, knots and burls are some characteristics that contribute to the natural beauty of finely crafted hardwood furniture. Hardwoods oxidize, or change color, from exposure to direct light. The color of the wood will deepen over time and take on a warm glow and soft patina. The finish is GREENGUARD Certified for low chemical emissions. Finishes are formulated to meet Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) standards for successfully completing a rigorous battery of tests simulating years of typical household use. Silver Exemplary Membership Status by Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) for proven performance in meeting a range of specific sustainability measures. Sage Award Recipient - recognition of environmental accomplishments within the home furnishings industry.
