For a little extra inspiration, the Domino editors’ favorite Instagrammers takeover our feed each weekend. It’s safe to say tips and covetable images are aplenty. Here’s what you need to know about the most recent feature!
Beyond housing the massive Mall of America and being home to the most recent Bachelorette, Minnesota is a pretty cool state. There’s the 10,000 lakes, bustling downtowns of the Twin Cities, and talented photographer Wing Ta, of course. She’s responsible for the photos of this beautiful home from our Spring ’16 issue and is a Minneapolis-based creative director. This week, Ta took over our Instagram feed to show us a few of her favorite local spots, highlighting a hip hotel, quaint boutique, and statement-making restaurant. If you’ve ever wanted to check out Minneapolis—these places are a must-add to your list.
A Historic, Can’t-Miss Spot
The restaurant portion of Alma has been open for years (like, almost two decades), while the seven room boutique hotel was added to the historic building more recently in 2016. We’re personal fans of the red brick facade, chic decor, and can’t wait to try the 3-course prix fixe menu.
The Best Local Shop
One of the best parts of visiting a city you’ve never been (or just exploring the one where you live) is discovering cool local shops. Often with unique, curated offerings, these are the places where you’ll find goods you can’t pass up. Minneapolis is lucky to have The Foundry Home Goods, a shop that sources simple and beautiful objects for your home. (We’re sold.)
Good Food, Even Better Vibes
After a day of shopping and exploring, you’ll surely want to sit down for a delicious meal. Ta recommends Martina Restaurant—and after one look at their cocktail menu, we’re also recommending Martina Restaurant.
Still need convincing to add Minneapolis to your travel list? These homes’ exteriors might just sway you…
