As you can imagine, domino sees quite a few stunning offices throughout the year. We’re a lucky bunch. But every now and then a workspace stands out as a place apart. This is true for Trunk Club , who recently moved into a mansion (a mansion you guys), near Rockefeller Center in NYC where clients can experience the stellar one-on-one styling service that
typically provides by mail. The space cannot be described in words, so we’re giving you the tour. The work experience certainly can be described, so we chatted with the trunk club staff to find out why they love what they do, and what it’s really like to work in a place like this.

What drew you to your current role at Trunk Club?
The opportunity to work at a fast-growing startup in fashion was really exciting to me. I had previously only worked in apparel and knew I wanted to continue that. The culture was the second part–we are like a big, close-knit family.
Does this space inspire or influence your work? If so, how?
Of course. Sometimes I have to take a step back and realize I work in one of the coolest spaces in the country! It makes me excited to come to work everyday. The diverse rooms remind me to go about my day differently each day and to always be evolving–like fashion always is!
What’s your favorite part of coming to work every day?
Knowing that every day is going to be different and I can create my own schedule, meet and work with new and interesting people, and dress however I want to!
Tell us a bit about the room pictured here. Who designed it?

You can never go wrong with this brand–it works for anyone. Whether a guy is wearing a leather jacket and linen Henley or just a white tee and denim, he looks effortlessly put together.

I love the

What drew you to your current role at Trunk Club?
I’ve always been interested in fashion and design. As a custom specialist I get to style clients as well as utilize my design skills while creating custom pieces for our clients. Best of both worlds!
Does this space inspire your work?
It never feels like work when you office out of a space as incredible as ours. It’s easy to get in a rut when you do the same thing everyday but working in this space keeps me on my toes! Each room is so drastically different from the rest…you never feel like you sit and stare at the same thing everyday! My favorite part of coming to work everyday is seeing everyone I work with. It never feels like work!
Who designed this room and why did you choose it?
I chose Orlebar Brown because I really love the simplicity of the space. They took a tiny room tucked away in the back and really made it interesting without looking crowded.
Are there any elements from your workspace that you’ve replicated in your home?
I just recently moved from Dallas to NYC so I’ve definitely downsized on apartment space. With that I’ve really started to appreciate interior design for small spaces which is why I think I’m so drawn to the Orlebar Brown room.
Liza Lax Gordon
SENIOR DIRECTOR OF SALES, NEW YORK
What drew you to your current role at Trunk Club?
Opening the New York club house in a 135 year old mansion on Madison Avenue! I was the 24th employee of Trunk Club. Being a part of our growth over the past four years has been thrilling. Over the past ten months in NYC we have grown our team from five stylists to 85! I love having the ability to hire smart, dynamic people so that they can experience working in a culture that is inviting and fun!
Tell us a bit about the room pictured here. Who designed it?
Theory. I worked for Theory for many years as the Women’s Senior Account Executive for Saks. I am a huge fan and love selling Theory to our male clients. Theory is known for clean lines and stand alone basics that can build a wardrobe. I think the furniture reflects that design aesthetic.

SALES MANAGER & CUSTOM SPECIALIST
What drew you to your current role at Trunk Club?
What drove me initially to Trunk Club was the energy, people and the fact that everyone is buying into something bigger than themselves, as a collective group. We all know we’re shaking up the retail and fashion industry, we also know it’s not easy. Our jobs are not easy but, everyone has been through it and through some of those rough patches together. It’s amazing knowing that everyone has your back.
What’s your favorite part of coming to work every day?
You literally never know what your day is going to be like. Even with your entire schedule booked, you just never know.
Tell us a bit about the room pictured here. Who designed it?
The team from DL Denim designed the room, and is honestly one of my favorites because my clients feel like they’re home instantly once they settle into one of these couches. Once they’re comfortable on the couch with a beer in hand, we’re going to have a great time.
Why did you choose this room for your photo?
I just love the balance of the room. I love the browns and blues, and the light entering it. The room also just as a great flow and has just always appealed to me.
What is one thing you wish everyone knew about Trunk Club?
It’s not a scam! Everyone thinks that there is a minimum or service fee. I sincerely want the best for each and every one of my clients. I’ve seen them stand taller in the mirror, and I’ve seen them walk with more confidence. I don’t change guys or who they are, I help make them the best version of themselves.

STYLIST
What drew you to your current role at Trunk Club?
My passion for fashion and styling and realizing that there is a major market in NYC that needs help and more importantly, needs Trunk Club. I love helping people out, I love making people feel good, confident and comfortable, and my role as a stylist at Trunk Club allows me to do so. I’ve established long lasting relationships with my clients and I know they can depend on me.
Does this workspace inspire or influence your work?
Absolutely, everything about this enormous, pristine and glamorous mansion inspires me. The architecture, the design, the details, and the stylish staff all influence my work. More importantly, this workspace smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of New York City inspires me.
What’s your favorite part of coming to work every day?
Who get’s to say they work in a Mansion on Madison Avenue? Walking through the cast-iron gates of the courtyard excites me on a daily basis. I am so luckily to be doing what I do and to be surrounded by incredible coworkers who I consider my friends. I get to work hard and have fun while doing it. That’s so important to me, I get to have FUN!
Tell us a bit about the room pictured here. Who designed it?
I am rocking out in the John Varvatos Room–I’m absolutely obsessed with this room. Everything about it. He’s so creative, so edgy and electric and that’s what this room is to me…creative, edgy, and electric. John Varvatos grew up in Detroit, and has added a layer of music to his brand. Everyone wants to be a little bit of a rock star and that rock star comes out of each and every individual that steps foot in this room.
Are there any elements from your workspace that you’ve replicated in your home?
If I could live in this room I absolutely would. That’s wishful thinking, so i’ll start small… I’ll start with the Chandelier.
