If you haven’t heard (or noticed) this week happens to be *the* most important and influential one in design. Salone del Mobile Milano marks that special time of year where artists, designers, and creatives alike gather from all corners of the world to unveil new product collections and showcase inspired installations.

Standing in as a primary source of emerging trends, the week-long fair is one that design-lovers flock to annually to scope out the best of what is to come. Ahead, we compiled the inaugural collections, fresh trends, and inspired moments that managed to take our breath away. Take a look.

Wallpaper* Handmade

This inviting pop-up experience brought together the hottest names in home decor, showcasing a vibrant and curated scope of furnishings and decorative accessories. The one item we can’t keep our eyes off? That oh-so-elegant lounge chair decked in an unapologetic, primary red.

The Diner

David Rockwell and studio 2×4’s inspired rendition of the classic American diner is a prime example of an installation that is the talk of the town. Set as a multi-platform venue that plays host to talks, private events, and even late-night karaoke sessions, the installation also comes with a dining experience executed by NYC’s Murray’s Cheese.

HAY

It was a big year for the Danish studio, who not only unveiled an exclusive collection of design-focused speakers in collaboration with Sonos but, also unveiled a revamped line of everyday essentials, which encompass everything from new culinary staples to the “Eléméntaire,” created with the intention of being an “inexpensive but the most beautiful chair.” Throw in the fact that it can live both indoors and out, and you have a solid winner.

La DoubleJ Housewives

Consider all your summer entertaining needs met. Reminiscent of the vibrant hues and motifs of the Amalfi Coastthe line boasts an array of intricately patterned pieces ranging from espresso cups to trays, each boasting a complementary slew of prints of a high-contrast inclination. Patterns are aplenty, falling right in line with the current sweep of maximalism where layering is not only encouraged but an essential.

Lara Bohinc

Designer Lara Bohinc was there to school us on the quintessence of a statement seat. The Celeste Chair is only one of the beautifully-designed items unveiled at Salone, joining the ranks of the handful of other soon-to-be iconic, sculptural pieces in her latest collection.

Apparatus

Lighting brand APPARATUS unveiled their highly-anticipated ACT III collection, inspired by creative director Gabriel Hendifar’s Iranian roots. Drawing from his Middle Eastern background, the collection pays tribute to a culturally-rich influence by infusing a range of historic elements with a bold dose of contemporary style. We’ve got our eyes on those sleek pendant lights, which you will undoubtedly be seeing everywhere soon.

Daniel Emma

The talented duo behind Daniel Emma left us virtually breathless with their unfaltering approach to design that marries a sleek, pared-down aesthetic with a palette riddled with vibrant primary hues. Their Bling Bling Dynasty collection, which unveiled at the fair earlier this week, boasts a slew of supreme essentials we can’t wait to bring home.

Seletti

Leave it to the ever-eclectic Italian design shop Seletti to serve us up with style so encapsulating, we’d seriously consider a full aesthetic overhaul. The brand collaborated with TOILETPAPER magazine and Studio Job, to produce their inaugural collection of upholstered chairs, and the Cora lamp—the brand’s whimsical rendition of old-world street lamps—respectively.
