It’s no secret that basketball pro Lebron James knows exactly what he’s doing on the court, but who knew the legendary player knew his way around the real estate market, too? According to Trulia, the athlete just put down a cool $23 million on a newly-constructed mansion in Brentwood—one of Los Angeles’ most prestigious neighborhoods. And it’s not just the home’s mind-blowing price tag that’s captured our full attention, but also the fact that the palatial estate comes with a room for, well, just about everything.
Compared to his former $17 million Miami mansion and his other Brentwood-owned estate (worth $20 million), the superstar’s most recent buy appears to be his most extravagant pick yet. From a massage room to a movie theater to a 10-car auto gallery, there’s no question the star athlete settled on the eight-bedroom abode for its sheer opulence.
And while James’ new digs come with more space—15,846 square feet, to be exact—than we might ever know what to do with, the extravagant pad is as defined by its endless room to wander as it is by its stylish design.
A long driveway lined with 100-year-old imported Sevillano olive trees leads to the palatial whitewashed home where an abundance of windows offer clear views of the interior’s soaring ceilings. Marble and metallic accents rule in the star’s enormous chef’s kitchen that sits just adjacent to a cozy seating area.
Also on the main floor? A generous guest room, library, service kitchen, and mudroom. The custom herringbone-patterned French Oak floors, which run throughout the kitchen and continue on into the contemporary great room, add to the home’s overall polished sensibility. Sky-high sliding pocket doors promise indoor-outdoor flow.
With a formal dining room fit for chic dinner parties, we’re hoping the NBA champ is as passionate about hosting star-studded feasts as he is about being on the court. And when he’s not in the mood to entertain indoors, the baller can simply take the elevator up to the pad’s rooftop terrace where a pizza oven, two firepits, and a fully-equipped barbeque area await.
Spanning an entire wing of its own, the master suite encompasses a luxe dwelling with style-focused details (peep the marble fireplace), a separate sitting area, and a luxurious walk-in closet. A private patio provides a peaceful escape where James and his family can soak in both city and ocean views.
Bathrooms don’t get much dreamier than the A-lister’s all-marble one—a space that arguably aims to outdo the private massage room and sauna downstairs.
Did you really think the iconic Cavs player would purchase a property without a gym? Unsurprisingly, James’ spacious indoor-outdoor fitness center comes equipped with just about everything the pro athlete needs keep him in prime shape throughout the offseason—er, that is, with the exception of a court.
Hedged for ultimate privacy, the pro’s poolside patio serves as a true testament to easy West Coast living. The heated outdoor kitchen and dining space has all the makings for a serene alfresco meal, including beer taps and a barbecue.
And if for any reason the Ohio native grows tired of the strong California rays, there still remain plenty of places to play and entertain back inside. From a fully-soundproofed theater to a 1,500-bottle wine cellar to a cigar room, we’re sure the basketball champ will never get bored.
