If there’s one thing Katy Perry can be counted on, it’s her unabashed embrace of all things colorful. So, it was little surprise to her fans that her nursery design is just as vibrant as her whimsical wardrobe. The pop star, who is awaiting the birth of her daughter this month, gave a sneak peek into her “baby room” yesterday during her weekly Smile Sunday livestream on her website.

The nursery features peony pink walls with dramatic lavender drapes, as well as a built-in changing table. But the standout is a simple white Stokke Sleepi crib. There’s a reason why this Norwegian piece remains so popular among parents. The curved design will look sleek and timeless for years: Bed extensions make it suitable for children up to age 10, as it expands into a unique, oval-shaped platform.

Perry had a say in the room’s design, a source told People in June. And while she’s sure to spend plenty of time in her sweet pink space over the next several months, she could soon try her hand at design yet again: She and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, were spotted house hunting in Montecito, California—not far from Perry’s hometown of Santa Barbara—just last week. The nesting process is never really over.
