For a little extra inspiration, the Domino editors’ favorite Instagrammers takeover our feed each weekend. It’s safe to say tips and covetable images are aplenty. Here’s what you need to know about the most recent feature!
One thing Dallas-based interior creative and ultimate thrifter Judy Aldridge is sure of is her unabashed love of maximalism, and her home certainly shows it. Initially inspired by the indigo, underwater dreamscape city of Atlantis, the stylish Texan started her brand, Atlantis Home, as a space for her loyal followers to shop beautiful, colorful hand-woven textiles from Guatemala and Mexico. The expertly-sourced products are sure to add a bit of vibrant flair to any bohemian home and truly show off her love of bold style. As the queen of vintage and consignment store finds, Aldridge is also a pro at taking something old and making it feel both new and personal. Offering a lesson in pattern-filled, bold, maximal and thrifty style, Aldridge took over our Instagram feed this past weekend to show us around her very own home. Get ready to feel inspired.
Goodbye, bar cart, hello full-blown, ultra-stylish bar. In perhaps one of the coolest DIY bar moments we’ve seen, Aldridge repurposed a super chic pair of brass bookcases to display of all the accoutrements of her in-home beverage station. Add a fresh plant and some super cool steel or leather bar stools and you’ve got the ultimate place for entertaining and doling out delicious drinks.
Next to the bar sits a stunning, traditional bookcase, along with tons of Aldridge’s vintage finds that round out the personality-filled living space. We love the intersection of art, pattern, and texture that makes this space feel especially unique and one-of-a-kind.
This bedroom accent wall is proof that you should really never shy away from a dark, bold paint color. It sits behind a truly incredible headboard, perfectly showing off the textiles in the room along with the artwork on the wall.
