We’ll be the first to put it out there: Jennifer Garner deserves her own Food Network series. Have you checked out her Instagram feed lately? Homemade bagels, roasted figs with goat cheese, sweet potato pudding—we tune in every week to see what recipe the actress will be whipping up next on her #PretendCookingShow. This Wednesday, though, Garner gave us a taste of something totally new: her kitchen essentials

Her latest video shows the budding chef in her home kitchen making raspberry preserves from Zoe Nathan’s cookbook, Huckleberry. (Yum.) But in between the stirring, simmering, and taste-testing, we couldn’t help but notice some of the staples hanging around on Garner’s countertops. These three essentials immediately caught our attention:

A poem: It is easy to make and heaven to serve, summertime tastes like a berry preserve. Kids home from camp with bellies to feed, a wee bit of time is all that you need. Well, plus raspberries.♥️ And sugar helps, too. ? Annnnnnd this easy recipe from @zoenathanloeb.? . #HuckleberryCookbook Raspberry Preserves Ingredients: 5 cups fresh raspberries (or you can add blueberries, too! ??‍♀️) 1/2 tsp kosher salt 3/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste ?) 2/3 cup water . 1. Combine everything in a medium stainless-steel pot. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat until the berries fall apart, about 10 minutes. 2. Uncover and cook down until thickened, stirring frequently to avoid burning, about 25 minutes. (if you have framboise splash a little in for depth of flavor— hi, @inagarten! ♥️) If you do burn it, sadly, there is no saving it. ? 3. Refrigerate until needed. 4. Yum. ♥️

A Splurge-Worthy Braiser

You can’t beat solid cast-iron cookware, and Garner stores her Staub graphite gray braiser right on the stovetop.

Colorful Measuring Cups

As if making sweet jam wasn’t already enough fun, Garner scoops her sugar with Barbie-pink measuring cups.

A Tried-and-True Mixer

KitchenAid’s beloved stand mixer strikes again. While Garner doesn’t actually pull out the appliance to make the preserves, we spotted the sleek silver piece sitting in the corner.
