Emily Ratajkowski is having a busy few weeks. The model-turned-actress recently starred opposite Amy Schumer in I Feel Pretty, and now according to Trulia, she just bought a new home. Between the shiplap wood ceilings and the canopy of greenery outside, it’s definitely well worth the alleged $2 million the starlet spent on the property.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home is situated in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Held by Compass, the listing describes the residence as a “private creative oasis”—which seems right up Ratajkowski’s alley. Images of her previous New York City residence posted on Instagram show a pretty impressive collection of artwork and a curated assortment of what appear to be vintage finds. Looks like the actress/model/general Person Of Interest On Instagram might have another title to tack on: art collector.
Though, given the listing images, it doesn’t look like this home needs much help in the decor realm. Photos show the 1,650-square-foot home completely decked out with mid-century pieces; and while those likely will be cleared out for the new homeowner, the cool structure of the home provides enough architectural interest to require minimal refurbishing.
Features like a 15-foot high brick fireplace and exposed ceiling beams bring a rustic charm to the place. Juxtaposed with more modern elements, like stark white walls with geometric cutouts in the hallway and massive windows, there’s a balance of old and new that makes for a stunning backdrop.
A completely custom kitchen, equipped with an island and state of the art appliances, lends plenty of prep space for both formal entertaining and quiet dinners at home.
Upstairs, the master suite’s huge windows open up directly into the trees, making it almost feel like you’re sleeping in a modern tree house of sorts (minus the mosquito threat). A spacious walk-in closet and custom bathroom with multiple skylights round out the top floor.
There’s also a separate guest cottage, which is connected to the home via a breezeway, and doesn’t skimp on space and style. The listing points out it can easily be converted into a gym or office—or even, perhaps more relevant in this case, an artist studio.
However as impressive as the indoor space is, the outdoors makes the home really shine. A private wrap-around garden has a hot tub and gas fire pit. Plus, with multiple fruit trees, a terraced succulent garden, and a wide variety of other greenery, the outdoor space is essentially a gardener’s dream. Or, you know, the dream of a cold New Yorker seeking warmth and sunshine and outdoor space that encompasses more than just a tiny balcony (are we projecting?).
