Ellen DeGeneres’ epic taste in real estate might just top her legendary dance moves. The A-lister—whose Santa Barbara villa is currently on sale for $45 million—didn’t let a slow market stop her from making a beachfront purchase: The talk show host’s new pad on the coveted Padaro Lane in Carpinteria serves as an idyllic escape from LA.

And unsurprisingly, seaside seclusion from the city doesn’t come cheap—it’s been reported DeGeneres dropped a cool $18.6 million on the home.

Unlike her Tuscan-inspired estate in Montecito, DeGeneres’ latest buy masterfully champions contemporary design. The home’s multistory glass walls make a sleek statement, and offer sweeping views of the Pacific. Plus, DeGeneres can simply slide open the see-through enclosure whenever she wants to bring the beach breeze indoors.

And while the home only sits on an acre of land, the property boasts a number of outdoor entertaining spaces and an expansive deck—as well as other bonus spaces, like a plunge pool, clay tennis court, and separate guesthouse that sleeps eight.

Inside the 6,000-square-foot abode, soaring ceilings take center stage. The all-white living room is a prime example of the home’s spacious and airy take on beachside living.

In the kitchen, dinner with a view takes on a whole new meaning. The home’s gourmet cookhouse is the perfect place to catch a California sunset, as well as enjoy a pre-supper snack.

Upstairs is the lavish master suite, which includes an enormous dressing room, a luxe master bath with its own fireplace and soaking tub, and a light-filled office.

The chic beachfront oasis was sold by Marsha Kotlyar and Michele White of MK Properties, and Kathleen Winter of Berkshire Hathaway. See more photos from the listing here.
