It may have only launched in 2018, but Shoppe Object is already one of our favorite design shows of the year. The semiannual New York City trade exhibition is a great way to discover new brands and get inspired—whether that means tracking down the perfect throw pillows or just unearthing an unexpected color palette. We always go armed with plenty of iPhone storage: You have to take pictures to remember everything!
This year’s show, a treasure trove of decor in every color, material, and style on view over the course of an August weekend, just wrapped. If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry—we have you covered. We narrowed down the list of designers our editors loved at the fair to these eight:
Lateral Objects
For when the post-summer blues hit and you find yourself booking a beach escape in November, you’ll need one of these colorful two-in-one towels. (They’re plush velour on one side and absorbent terry on the other.)
Andrew Molleur
Make early-morning breakfasts feel more special with swirly cereal bowls. Molleur hand-glazes each using a variety of techniques—dipping, brushing, spraying—for a one-of-a-kind finish.
Capra Designs
These ochre-hued “terrazzo” coasters (they’re actually hand-poured resin) are so chic your guests will actually want to use them.
Workaday Handmade
You already know Workaday’s Instagram-famous oversize-handle mugs. Now meet their tiny cousin, perfect for espresso breaks.
Leah Singh
Each of Singh’s Technicolor textiles are carefully handcrafted by artisans in India, and the attention to detail shows in the playful patterns.
LGS Studio
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to get in on the ribbed trend, consider this lilac stoneware vase, inspired by the spring on a clothespin, a sign from above.
Tina Frey Designs
This resin table (actually, Frey’s entire resin collection) was such a showstopper at the design fair, we had to include it—even if it doesn’t technically launch until later in the fall. Keep an eye on her site for updates.
Edgewood Made
Add a piece of functional sculpture to your dining table with a raw porcelain pitcher (it’s glossy on the inside) in the coolest boxy silhouette.
