Of all the chromatic experts’ playful predictions, we’re leaning into daffodil because the idea of fresh flowers takes us to a 70-and-sunny happy place where our biggest problems involve tinkering with our spring garden. But more than that, the lively essence of this bloom (often the first perennial to blossom after a frosty season) is the much-needed antidote to a long, cold winter.
When it comes to working the botanical color into your home, keep in mind its versatility. The smile-inducing hue works in small doses, like on a patterned throw pillow or a Scandi-style candlestick on a coffee table. But because this yellow is mellow, you can easily scale it up by painting an entire room in it or choosing to make a sofa in the shade the star of your living room.
