Style assistant Julia Stevens went with a mod moment, born from Dries Van Noten’s Spring 2019 mensware runway show, where bold and vibrant prints reminiscent of the ’60s set the scene. “Retro patterns are daring and carefree, both for home decor and your wardrobe,” says Stevens. “The whole vibe brings me joy, and isn’t that what finding your signature look is all about?” Below, she shares her favorite pieces from the era, including a so-comfy-you’ll-never-get-up couch and anOp Art–influenced dress colorful enough to combat the grayest of days.

If you want to dress up your drink…

I love the sleek shape of these Fferrone glasses, and sipping from ultra-mod cups actually does make drinks taste better.

If florals for spring aren’t groundbreaking…

This bag is a great example of the playful-meets-chic vibe the ’60s is known for. Leave it to Loewe to make flower power and fringe feel fresh.

If you want to sit in style…

Veruschka would approve of a cloud-like sofa straight from the Blow-Up set.

If your decor is always far-out…

I want to upholster my world in these Kelly Wearstler and Schumacher prints, but a throw pillow will do for now.

If hosting has you puzzled…

What looks like graphic art for your coffee table is actually a 750-piece puzzle modeled after Frank Stella’s famous 1970s Firuzabad. It’s never a bad idea to provide on-theme entertainmentat an era-specific cocktail party.

If your hallway needs a little TLC…

A chic fall wardrobe starts with a chic clothing rack. Liven up your corridor with this sculptural-meets-functional option from Ferm Living.

If Twiggy is your fashion icon…

You heard it here first—squiggles are the new stripes. Warning: This Stine Goya dress might cause wearers to crave a pixie cut.

If you want to illuminate your bedside table…

Groovy doesn’t begin to describe these globe lights. The lamps go from moody to moodier with just a tap, proving that looking like 1965 but functioning like 2019 makes for a dynamite combination.
