“If you are a hot sleeper or you have a heavy duvet, you will probably want something lightweight,” she explains. “If you tend to feel cold at night, you should choose something that covers the shoulders and is in a warm fabric.”
Another thing to keep in mind is what you do in your sleepwear when you aren’t in bed. “If you wear your sleepwear through the entire morning, or you have houseguests a lot, you might want something with a bit more coverage (or at least something that isn't sheer) so that you aren't feeling exposed at the breakfast table,” she says.
In other words, opacity is your friend to maintain your status as the hostess with the mostess. “If you wear a robe around the house or you want something a bit more flirty, then go for a pretty shorts set or a slightly sheer fabric,” Isenberg notes.
