Anna Sui’s New PBteen Collection Is Here, and It’s as Fabulous as You’d Imagine

The designer went all out for this Pottery Barn collab.

Anna Sui’s bringing her signature butterfly designs, psychedelic prints, and edgy embellishments to the home, thanks to her new collaboration with PBteen. The collection—which launches today—features all the chic features the designer is famous for, and includes a huge variety of products, including artwork, bedding, curtains, and even lighting. Some standouts? Exotic wall hangings, slick jewelry boxes, cozy shams, flowered wallpaper, and even paper-mache doll heads… so yes, this isn’t your average collection at all.

Inspired by her own bedroom as a teen growing up in Detroit, this collection boasts a bohemian chic aesthetic and whimsical patterns—but it also gives about an air of sophisticated refinement. This makes sense, as the collection was actually an amalgamation of two different ideas. The designer tells Domino, “I created two different looks—one is based on the art nouveau feel of my boutiques, and the other one is inspired by the chinoiserie style you’d find in my own apartment.” These two design styles seamlessly complement one another to create an eclectic, stylish look.

And of course, expect runway inspiration at every turn. Sui says, “The prints are all taken from my fashion collections (and perfume packaging), and there’s also a giant paisley pattern used in the bedding and backpacks that comes from my Fall 2008 show.” The purple and black themes are classic Anna, but the subtle accents—like the sham caricatures, intertwining butterfly wings, and curved mirror handles—give the line a dose of fearless romanticism and signify a profound attention to detail. See some of our favorite pieces from the 50-piece line below.
