Roosters are already known for being a tad on the vocal side. But this one's especially wordy, his paper mache-sculpted body covered as it is in text from recycled publications (like the old riddle, he's black and white and read all over). And that's part of what makes this character so memorable: the news in Haiti hasn't often been good news, and even before the 2010 earthquake killed a quarter of a million people, the Caribbean island nation was troubled by disease and political strife. So it's that much more meaningful for Haitian artisans to cover our rooster in newsprint, as they work to turn all that bad news into good. Dimensions: 20"l x 19"w
