The design world loves rules.
There are those of us who feel rules are meant to be broken. And those of us that feel rules give a healthy lay line for design choices. I got started in interior design in the '80s with a national design firm and one of the concepts I used to train fellow designers was the 'BRAGG concept'. This is one of those rules that is easy to remember and equally as easy for clients to grasp. One designer tip I have used across the decades to produce well-designed rooms is: BRAGG.
Reflective surfaces add dimension, sparkle and shine to a room. A room without 'sparkle' is flat and listless. Mirrors give you 'interior windows' where other parts of the room are reflected. Glass in the form of framed art, mirrors, and shiny accessories all add to the luxurious feel of a room and lend well to a sense of movement in a room.
Take the BRAGG test in your home,
and follow these simple tricks to
making your room feel like it
was professionally designed!
