Heather Day was born in Ewa Beach, Hawaii and spent most of her younger years living in the Washington DC area. She received her BFA in painting and art history from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore MD. While studying at MICA, Day began showing her paintings in Washington DC, Chicago and other select cities. Day creates work that involves a process of layering paint, fibers and various energetic marks. She's interested in the relationship between decay and upkeep that relies heavily on human interaction. These paintings are never planned. Each piece is a product of an experience, leaving behind documentation of how an event transpired. The paintings often act as pages in a book requiring several in a series to tell a story. Day currently lives and works in Oakland, CA.

Tappan Exclusive Original Painting:  This exclusive Tappan Collective Painting is an archival photograph on natural white, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archivall paper.
