Design by Frank Gehry, 1992.
Inspired by the apple crates he had played on as a child, Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry created the ribbon-like design of the Power Play Chair and Ottoman with interwoven maple strips. The ribbon-like design integrates material with structure, transcending all conventions of style. Simple, yet sturdy. Purchase the Club Chair with or without the accompanying Off Side Ottoman.
Model94L-GC - Power Play Club Chair
The Power Play Chair and Ottoman were created as part of a series of surprisingly lightweight chairs inspired by objects in designer Frank Gehry's youth. The Power Play Chair offers a seating option for reclining your body and elevating your legs (with the companion ottoman, optional and sold separately). Constructed of hard white maple veneers in 2" wide strips. Power Play slats flex individually for added comfort. All wood grains run in the same direction for resilience. And the chair includes clear plastic glides with a matte frost finish.
Notes: Each chair comes stamped with the KnollStudio logo, Frank Gehry's signature and the date of production.
