In 2011, Brooklyn-based painter Irene Wood launched History+Industry, a jewelry line born from her desire to translate ancient artifact to powerful contemporary adornment. The pieces are infused with elements of royal costuming but function as protective armor for the day to day. Hand-built by Irene in Brooklyn, NY from materials ranging from metals, semi-precious stones and painted wood, each talisman provides an opportunity for its participant to imagine and foster their own personal mythology.
This bracelet is named for the Rothschild's 1971 Proust Ball in their Chateau just outside Paris. Celebrity guests feasted in a dining room decked out paradisiacally in palm trees and fern.
Four strands of faux rhinestones, white chalk turquoise, black wood beads, vintage resin and crescent shaped brass tubes create this thick statement bracelet.
