In villages throughout Hungary, these wide mouth jars were used for preserving cucumbers and white peppers in vinegar. Put to use at the end of the summer harvest, the clear glass enabled the sun to ferment its contents for year round enjoyment. Our jars are recycled from broken antique glass jars that are melted down and reblown in their original casts to retain their characteristic appeal.
