Borragine is Italian for Borage, an herb originating in Syria, but grown throughout the Mediterranean region, North Africa, and Iran. In the 14th and 15th centuries, a vase such as this was most likely used to keep the herb, which are still used in salads, soups, sauces, teas and as an ingredient in the traditional recipe for a Pimm's Cup.  Designed by Ceramiche Bartoloni.
