Published April 1, 1939. The 1939 New York World's Fair was one of the largest of all time, introducing its visitors to 'The World of Tomorrow.' Looking ahead to that future, this smartly dressed fairgoer sports a green jacket with print revers by Hockanum, a green-and-white print rayon dress, a white straw hat, a Weinreich choker, and white gloves. The emblems of the fair, the Trylon and Perisphere, loom behind her. The photograph, by Paul D'Ome, appeared on the April 1939 cover of Mademoiselle. Artist by Paul D'Ome
