Published December 1, 1965. Woody Allen—director, actor and now musician—sports a tuxedo and holds a pale blue telephone. A model takes the call, wearing a merlot, aubergine, and midnight cotton velveteen suit by Luba for Elite Juniors. Her bracelet and matching earrings are by Arpad. This David McCabe photograph, which appeared in the December 1965 Mademoiselle, was taken at the moment Allen's career took flight, making it both aesthetically and historically relevant. Artist by David Mccabe
