Bobby Jones rips a drive on the first hole during his playoff victory over Al Espinosa at the 1929 U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club's West Course in Mamaroneck, New York. It was the Atlanta amateur standout's third U.S. Open title. He would successfully defend that crown in 1930 while winning golf's first and only grand slam.
