Brit Kleinman was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. After receiving a degree in Industrial Design from The Rhode Island School of Design, she began her career designing bags for Samsonite and Timberland. She then spent five years as Head Bag Designer for Jack Spade. Brit has also worked with other standout companies such as Shinola, Casper, Grain and Wejetset. Before creating AVO in 2014, Brit started The Way We Carry, a website that looks into how we transport our daily tools.
The Painted Plains collection utilizes cowhides and bold graphics to create a modern juxtaposition between material and pattern. Every pillow design is hand-painted in Brooklyn using a water based stain that penetrates into the hide for long lasting wear. The reverse features a black yarn-dye linen and signature logo handle. These pillows are meant to age beautifully and deepen in color over time. Each one is unique and will have slight marks and color variations from representative photos.

Construction Process - Knife Edge
-Black stain on full grain veg-tan cowhide
-100% black linen reverse
-Down feather insert included
-Signature embossed logo handle on reverse
-YKK Metal zipper closure
Care Information - Down feather insert may be easily removed through zipper closure and cleaned as per interior tag's instructions. Spot clean pillow cover and quickly absorb excess liquid. Wipe clean with a soft cloth. Do not heat, let air dry. These pillows are meant to age beautifully and truly get better looking the more you use it.
